Inside the Donut Creation | In the Design of Donut Sleep Light, Fabric Is More Than a Sound Medium

In the Design of Donut Sleep Light, Fabric Is More Than a Sound Medium—It’s a Gentle Armor for Sleep

After 87 rigorous material tests, we ultimately selected a dual-tone microfiber woven fabric—imbued with the tactile nostalgia of childhood linen, yet engineered for immersive acoustics.

▍ Why This Fabric?

Breathable Structure: Cross-woven with dual tones, featuring 1,200+ micro-perforations per cm² for lasting ventilation without heat buildup.

Triple-Layer Protection:
→ Nano-scale anti-mold coating for microbial & stain resistance
→ Anti-static treatment to minimize dust adhesion

▍ An Experiment Rooted in Childhood
Our design team revisited memories of security—the embrace of a childhood blanket, the handwoven linen curtains from grandmother’s home. The breakthrough came from a century-old textile mill in Hokkaido, where traditional weaving met modern fiber science. Through 14 manual stretching processes, the fabric achieves a perfect equilibrium: pliable yet durable, acoustically transparent yet softly insulating.
